Edinburgh University Cheerleading and Dance welcomes everyone, whatever their level of experience, to try out for one of our eight teams:
EUCD Vixens Level 3: Our Level 3 cheerleading competition team. This team was new last year, and we train every Friday (5-7) and Saturday (4-5:30), with the possibility of extra training sessions if required. We are also currently the only university team in Scotland competing at this level!
EUCD Vixens Level 2: Our Level 2 cheerleading competition team. We train Tuesdays (6:30-8:30) and Wednesdays (5-7), with the possibility of extra training sessions if required. For the 2021/22 season, we attended 2 national competitions and came home with a 2nd place, a 1st place win, and the Nation's Cup for the best cheerleading team in Scotland!
EUCD Vixens Level 1: Our Level 1 cheerleading competition team. We train Tuesdays (5-6:30) and Thursdays (5-7), with the possibility of extra training sessions if required. For the 2022/23 season, we received 1st and 4th place in UK national championships.
EUCD Vixens Pom: One of our competitive dance teams. We train every Thursday (5-7) and attend a mandatory technique class every Sunday (6-8). In 2022/23, we were awarded 1st and 3rd places in both Scottish and UK national championships
EUCD Vixens Jazz: Our other competitive dance team. We train every Wednesday (5:30-7) and attend a mandatory technique class every Sunday (6-8). This team was only started in 2019 so we are excited to explore this style more. In the 2022/23 season, we received 1st and 3rd place in both the Scottish and UK nationals we attended, where we were awarded the Phenomenal Performance title at the latter.
EUCD Vixens Hip-Hop: Our final competitive dance team. We train every Monday (5-7) and attend a mandatory technique class every Sunday (6-8). In the 2021/22 season, we received 1st and 3rd place at nationals.
EUCD Vixens Venom: Our Level 1 recreational cheerleading team. We train on Sundays (12-2), and are all about learning the different elements of cheerleading. We are very flexible as it will be up to the team to decide whether to compete or spend the year developing skills performed at our annual showcase.
EUCD Performance Dance: This is a recreational dance team. We train on Thursdays (7:30-8:30) and have the option to attend a technique class on Sundays (6-8). This team will explore a range of styles throughout the year and have the opportunity to perform at our annual showcase.
Our competitive cheerleading teams train in Gym 3 in St Leonards land, competitive dance teams, as well as our recreational cheerleading team train in the Dance Studio in St Leonards land, and the performance dance and technique classes, will be at Pleasance!
We also have an additional tumble class which is open to everyone in the club - Wednesdays (4-5) in Gym 3.
Please be aware, to join our competitive teams, you must have purchased a Sport & Exercise Gym Membership.
