The Edinburgh University Karate Club is one of the university’s sports clubs, offering different karate training styles and techniques, fun socials and amazing seminars led by world renowned senseis. The club’s committee is composed of Edinburgh University students, who are always thinking of ways to refine the club even further with dynamic activities. All our members are friendly, loving and always ready with a helping hand.  

In the year 2019/2020, our club competed at BUCS, brining back 2 gold, 3 silver and 10 bronze medals. At SSS we dominated the scene, bringing back home 3 gold, 6 silver and 10 bronze medals. If big competitions aren’t your thing, we also organise Intra-Club Competitions, where among friends, you can show off your new skills. In order to even further enhance our skills, whether for competition or for ourselves, we aim to organise as many seminars as possible. We were fortunate enough to have had Ger O’Dea, Chloe Maclean, Dolina Ross, Calum Robb and Francis Robertson host seminars for our wonderful club.  

We are a very tight knit community and love organising socials. Whether it’s grabbing a drink at our weekly pub trip after training, a sports ball, the arcade or an amazing potluck with delicious food (and I mean delicious), we are always on the go.  

Everyone is welcome at our club, regardless of previous experience, so come along!!
