Sport Participation Activator
Fixed Term until 30th June 2026
Salary: UE04 (£25,733-£28,381)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support to volunteers to enable the delivery of recreational sport to the wider community, including underrepresented groups, and promote member retention.
- Encourage the student body to engage in sport and provide information on the opportunities provided by the Sports Union.
- Provide support to schools and other departments within the university by offering activities specific to their students alongside the People & Participation Manager.
- Support the People & Participation Manager in developing professional development for students through sport.
- Support the Sports Coordinator: Competitions to grow and develop the Intramural Sport Programme.
- Communicate and liaise with Sport and Exercise to ensure that we have a cohesive recreational sport offering.

Sport Workforce Activator
Sport Workforce Activator
Fixed Term until 30th June 2026
Salary: UE04 (£25,733-£28,381)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support to plan a calendar of training events and opportunities for volunteers within Sports Union clubs
- Encourage the student body to engage in sport and provide information on the opportunities for CPD provided by the Sports Union.
- Provide support to schools and other departments within the university by offering activities specific to their students alongside the People & Participation Manager.
- Support the People & Participation Manager with administrative tasks involved in the Volunteer Zambia project
- Plan and Chair regular Wellbeing & Inclusion Forums to engage club volunteers, and drive forward the Sports Union W&I agenda

Sports Union Intern
Fixed Term until 30th June 2026
Salary: UE03 (£12.83 / hr) (approx. 25 hours per week)
Key Responsibilities
- Make routine arrangements and bookings, according to clearly defined instructions, and be involved in the preparation and promotion of CPD events delivered to CVA members.
- Liaise with the People & Participation Manager to support wider projects across the CVA and Sports Union, such as the planning and development of ConcussEd and Active Bystander training.
- Supporting the Sports Coordinator – Communications and Events with the logistical planning for UoE Sport TV.
- Supporting the work of Sports Union and Sport & Exercise colleagues with ad-hoc projects.
- Communicate effectively with CVA members to ensure feedback is available to the Sports Union, so that programmes can be continually developed.
- Receive, and respond to, enquiries from EUSU clubs with regards to coaching and community opportunities that exist within the CVA, knowing when it is appropriate to refer requests outside one’s knowledge base to the appropriate person/area.
- Time for developing personal projects that align with the work of the CVA and wider Sports Union.
