ELECTION ADDRESS
I’m Ailsa, your current Wellbeing Officer on the SU Executive Committee. I’m also the former Female Captain of the athletics club, a final year Physical Education student, and an individual who lives and breathes sport at Edinburgh.
I am running to be your Sports Union President because I would like to empower all members to flourish and thrive in their student lives. I mean this in in every way imaginable: empowering members to become more confident, to become better athletes, better communicators, better friends and better people. Everyone deserves to have a positive relationship with the Sports Union, and I believe I can make this possible through reviewing club culture and strengthening the sense of community we cherish here at Edinburgh.
I want to ensure sport at Edinburgh is Safe for All. I want to reengage the Intramural community. Finally, I want to raise the profile of Sport at Edinburgh and uphold our reputation as a centre of sporting excellence within Scotland. I believe attention to these areas will allow the Sports Union to evolve and prosper.
