EDex - Futsal

Sun 25 November 2018 12:00-14:00
Sports Hall, Pleasance (Sport & Exercise)

Following on from last year’s successful taster events, University of Edinburgh Futsal Club invites anyone and everyone to come along and give futsal a go!

Futsal is an indoor variant of association football created in Uruguay by a teacher called Juan Carlos Ceriani, in the 1930s. The word, ‘futsal’, comes from the compounding of Spanish and Portuguese words: futbol/futebol and sala/salao, translating as ‘indoor/hall football’. It is the only small sided game sanctioned by FIFA and UEFA.

This is a session open to all, that will allow you to sample the game - regardless of your current ability - and allow you to meet new friends whilst getting in your daily dose of physical activity.

Indoor-specific shoes are advised due to the lack of grip that other types of shoes provide on an indoor surface. However, please play in whatever you feel comfortable.

Spaces are limited for this event, and sign-up will be available from 11th November onwards.
