About Us
Founded in 1930, Edinburgh University Fencing club is one of the university's most successful sports clubs and one of the best university fencing clubs in Britain.
ABOUT
Providing professional training for all fencers from complete beginners to seasoned competitors, EUFC caters to all three weapons: Foil, Epée and Sabre, in addition to catering to the needs of pentathlon athletes. We are confident we can provide a great club experience for all fencers from those who wish to hone their skills and compete to those who want to try something new. We do offer competition opportunities to all levels of fencers with BUCS Teams for Intermediate and Advanced fencers, as well as a non-BUCS affiliated team for novices. We're a friendly club, offering a range of training opportunities, from novice to international performance standard.

TRAINING TIMETABLE
All of our training sessions take place at St. Leonard's Land, Holyrood Rd, Edinburgh EH8 8AQ.
Our timetable for the upcoming Fall 2025 Semester is as follows:
Monday 17:30-20:00 - Beginner* - Advanced, Coached Training (Sabre) - Gym 3
Monday 19:30-22:00 - Club Night: All 3 Weapons (Free Fencing and Coaching) - Gym 3
Tuesday 07:00-08:00 - Performance Training (Invite Only) - Gym 3
Wednesday 13:00-14:30 - Beginner* Training (Foil) - Gym 2
Saturday 09:00-11:00 - Beginner* Training (Foil) - Gym 3
Saturday 11:00-13:00 - Coached Training (Foil + Epee) - Gym 3
*Please note: the purchase of a beginner membership means that you are only able to attend these beginner sessions. However, with a full membership, you can attend any session, including the beginner sessions!
KIT RENTAL
If you do not have your own kit, then you will be able to rent kit from us. The rental is done on a semesterly basis, with a cost of £30 to rent and a deposit of £20 which will be returned to you when the kit is returned. Please keep up to date with our Instragram (@edinburghfencing) for details about the date(s) that we will be running the rental sessions. Smaller items such as bodywires, foil/sabre lames and masks, and weapons can be lent out for free on a session by session basis and do not need a pre-arranged rental.
SOCIALS
Throughout the year, we will be holding both drinking and non-drinking socials so there's something for everyone! Please keep an eye on our instagram account @edinburghfencing for more details.
