What We Offer - AFF (Accelerated Free Fall) Courses :
This is a SOLO course, not a one-off tandem jump. This is your chance to learn how to skydive all by yourself, jumping from 15,000ft from your very first jump, feeling and looking awesome. The course is open to all who meet the age and weight requirements to skydive, found on our dropzone's FAQ page.
By booking an AFF course, you'll receive a full day of 'ground school' after which you'll complete 7 AFF levels with instructors followed by a further 11 jumps to consolidate and build your skills. That means you are solo (with the support of two instructors) from jump 1! After your day of ground school we spend the whole weekend camping at the dropzone together to squeeze in as many jumps as we can. We leave Edinburgh on Wednesday evening with ground school starting bright and early on Thursday. Weather depending, you'll then be jumping out of a plane from 15000ft the next day! We are aiming for you to get your 'A License' which can be done in as little as 18 jumps. You won't be pushed to progress any faster than you are comfortable with, but we find our members become quickly addicted to the adrenaline!
Check out our home dropzone's (Skyhigh Skydiving) website for more information about where you'll be jumping here.
Our initial sign-up fee for the course is £359.
You will also be required to hold a club membership. This is £29 per year for new members and £22 for non-students, purchased at the same time as your course weekend booking. Membership gives you access to club kit, discounted jumps, event transport, and club socials.
*We cannot guarantee that you will be able to complete your first jump on this first training weekend. Skydiving is a weather-dependent sport and if the weather conditions are beyond the student limits set by the dropzone staff and instructors, jumping cannot take place. Arrangements to return to the dropzone to complete your first jump must be made by you. We do not offer refunds for those unable to make it back to the dropzone to complete their first jump.
CONTACT: If you have any questions with regards to getting involved with the club then e-mail us on email@example.com.
Should an individual require a refund – this can only be done by the club you have joined in cash or cheque (at their own discretion). The Sports Union Membership cannot be refunded, and neither can the transaction fee.
You may be eligible for financial assistance to help you take part in sport. You can find more information about the University's Participation Grant and other hardship funds here.
