Incident Reporting

Sport should be a place for everyone to feel safe and welcome to participate. At the beginning of each semester, we educate our Committee Members and Intramural Captains about our expectations and how to maintain an inclusive and positive club environment.

ALL sports union members must read and agree to our code of conduct before joining. You can view the EUSU Code of conduct here. You can find all EUSU policies here, including our Alcohol & Initiations, Safeguarding and Safety Policies.

Here at the Sports Union, we are here to listen and respond to ANY issues or concerns from students or members of the public about activity in our clubs, Intramural teams, and the wider Sports Union. If you have experienced or witnessed any hazing-type behaviour, discrimination, physical, mental or emotional by staff/ coaches/ members or any other issue please provide information via the Report a Concern form here. Alternatively, you can submit a report directly to sports.president@ed.ac.uk or another member of staff.

For instances involving gender-based and sexual violence, we encourage members to use the University's Report + Support platform. All answers will be anonymous, we will not collect any information that identifies you, such as name or email, unless you provide it. If you feel comfortable doing so you have the option to provide us with minimal personal details should you wish to do so. These will not be shared with anyone. Providing personal information may allow us to follow up with you for further information. This will be exclusively to help us take appropriate action. If you do not share any personal details your report will still be incredibly valuable in helping us prevent issues in future.

Does your club do something great to maintain a positive club environment? Let eusu.wellbeing@ed.ac.uk know about what you are doing well! For more infomation on how about how to make your club more inclusive, please read the Wellbeing & Welfare in Scottish College & University Sport Guide and Toolkit
