Inclusion Committee

Our commitment to inclusion underpins everything that we do at the Sports Union. Sport develops knowledge and skills, supports mental health and enhances wellbeing, keeps people active and strengthens our communities. Sport provides a wide range of benefits of which we want all staff and students at The University of Edinburgh to be able to access and enjoy.

We are therefore taking steps to strengthen this commitment even further, by continuing the development of our Sports Union Inclusion Committee. This committee will be chaired by our Vice-President Inclusion, Philine Rouwers (in 2022/23) and we are looking for student representatives who identify as being from any of the following groups:

  • people with disabilities
  • postgraduates
  • widening access (those from a background experiencing increased socioeconomic barriers)
  • ethnic minorities
  • international students
  • LGBT+
  • transgender and women in sport

This will provide a collective voice to drive forward our unwavering commitment to inclusion within sport at Edinburgh.
