Hockey picked up 6 wins from 11 matches, the Men’s squads scored a combined 22 goals and conceded 4, 6’s started the day with an impressive 9-0 win over Stirling 3’s, the 5’s picked up a 3-1 win over Heriot-Watt 2’s, the 2’s took down Aberdeen 1’s 2-0, the 4’s secured a 6-0 win, the 1’s went down in a close match with Sheffield Hallam 3-2. Not to be outdone the Women’s 7’s started the day with a 7-1 win over St Andrews 4’s, the 6’s beat Stirling 4’s 14-0, the 4’s narrowly lost 2-1 to Heriot-Watt 1’s, the 2’s drew 2-2 with St Andrews 1’s, the 1’s went down to a strong Nottingham 5-0 in the National League.
It was a big day for the Basketball Club with 4 wins from 5, the Men’s 1’s picked up their first win of the season beating local rivals Heriot-Watt 68-72 and also picked up a crucial Burgh Varsity point in the process, the 2’s match with Abertay was postponed due to availability of officials, the 3’s made it a double over Heriot-Watt with a 83-60 win, the women’s 1’s weren’t to be outdone and claimed a 63-60 win away to Loughborough, the 2’s came back from Aberdeen with a 76-37 win over Aberdeen, unfortunately it wasn’t a clean sweep with the 3’s losing 73-59 to Dundee 1’s.
The Men’s Football 1’s picked up another 3 points following a convincing 4-0 away win over Stirling, the Women’s 1’s picked up their first Premier League point with a 3-3 draw away to Leeds Beckett, the team are looking forward to the return match.
The Women’s Lacrosse 2’s beat St Andrews 15-6 to continue their debut Premier League season, the 1’s were leading 6-3 at Half-Time and secured a 12-10 win over Newcastle 1’s.
It was a tough day at the office for the Men’s rugby squads with the 1’s going down 29-14 to Birmingham 1’s, the 2’s lost to St Andrews 1’s 14-12 and the 3’s were pipped to the line by QMU 14-12. The Ladies 2’s picked up another bonus point win with a 48-0 win over neighbours Napier.
The Women’s 2’s tennis beat RGU 12-0, the Men’s 1’s claimed A 12-0 WIN OVER Glasgow 1’s, the 2’s went down 10-2 to St Andrews 1’s, the 3’s lost 8-4 to Strathclyde 2’s, the 4’s were beaten 12-0 by Aberdeen 1’s and the 5’s claimed an 8-4 win over St Andrews 5’s.
Men’s Ultimate 1’s beat Heriot-Watt 10-5 in their only match of the day. Women’s Volleyball 1’s secured a 3-1 win over St Andrews and the Men’s Water Polo 1’s secured a 12-12 draw with last seasons Premier League Champions Manchester Met. The Women’s 1’s brought home the win with a 26-4 win over Manchester.
This weekend sees just 25 fixtures taking place with the BUCS Squash starting of their campaign.
