Lacrosse 1s with a 15-6 victory of Loughborough 1s, leads a Wednesday of 15 wins for Edinburgh

Wednesday saw another bumper day of fixtures with a total of 37 fixtures across the day and Edinburgh picking up 15 wins, 3 draws and 13 losses. The sun was out and the spectators headed down to Peffermill to take in the action throughout the day, there were some thrilling matches taking place.


Men’s rugby 1’s welcomed last season’s Prem North A Champions Newcastle to Fortress Peffermill and managed to secure a bonus point 35-14 win, Men’s 2’s suffered a 32-24 loss away to Aberdeen 1’s, Men’s 3’s took the city bragging rights with a 29-20 win over Heriot-Watt and the Men’s 4’s picked up a losing bonus point after a 15-16 loss to Glasgow 3’s.


Women’s Lacrosse 1’s put down a marker for the season with a 15-6 victory over Loughborough 1’s, the Women’s 3’s lost a close match 5-7 with Stirling 1’s, the 4’s and 5’s found it tough going against Glasgow 1’s and Strathclyde 1’s losing their matches 3-17 and 16-2 respectively.


The Women’s Basketball 1’s opened their season with an astounding 108-39 win over Durham, Women’s 2’s secured a 71-28 win over Stirling 1’s, the Men’s 2’s beat Glasgow Caledonian 1’s 96-49, the Men’s 3’s took a 81-67 win over Glasgow 2’s the Men’s 1’s unfortunately lost 82-55 to a strong Aberdeen 1’s.


Football Men’s 2’s beat Stirling 4’s 6-0, the Men’s 4’s (Intramural sport team) beat Stirling 5’s 5-0, the Men’s 3’s lost 2-4 to UWS 1’s, the Women’s 1’s played their first ever Premier League fixture against a very strong Loughborough and unfortunately fell to a 6-2 loss, the Women’s 3’s beat Glasgow 2’s 5-0.


Women’s Hockey 2’s welcomed Dundee 1’s to Peffermill and in a close match missed out 1-0, The Women’s 3’s took club bragging rights with a 3-0 win over the 4’s, the Women’s 5’s beat Glasgow 4’s 3-0, the Women’s 6’s beat Glasgow 5’s 9-0, the Men’s 2’s travelled to Dundee and brought back a 6-2 win over Abertay 1’s, the Men’s 4’s drew 1-1 with the 5’s, Men’s 6’s lost to Glasgow 3’s 3-0.


The Tennis Men’s 1’s welcomed St Andrews 1’s to Edinburgh in what is always an exciting fixture and this match continued the trend with a thrilling 6-6 draw, the Men’s 2’s felt it tough going against Stirling 2’s losing 12-0, the Men’s 3’s and 4’s played out a tough match and shared the spoils with a 6-6 draw, the Men’s 5’s lost 4-10 to Strathclyde, the Women’s 1’s took on the 3’s and won 12-0, the Women’s 2’s lost to a strong St Andrews 3’s 2-10.


This weekend sees another 14 matches taking place with 6 matches being hosted at the Pleasance.
