Edinburgh University Ice Skating Club is focused on bringing an open and inclusive atmosphere to ice skating, welcoming advanced skaters, those just learning to step onto the ice and everyone in between. Overcoming the intimidation of the ice, our club strives to foster a strong community to support one another, learn new skills and share the joys of skating. While our members are not authorised to provide coaching, we are able to offer guidance and support to newer skaters as well as contacts to certified BIS coaches operating at the rink.
Get to know your fellow skaters at our weekly sessions, social events and occasional watch parties for larger figure skating events.

Recreational Opportunities
Members can expect biweekly (twice a week) skating sessions at Murrayfield Ice Arena and weekly off-ice training led by a certified coach.
Semester 2 also offers members the opportunity to showcase their skills at an annual Scottish inter-university figure skating competition, as a way to provide first-time skaters a taste of the competition environment. Additionally, the club occasionally organises regional day trips to neighbouring rinks across Scotland and even international excursions to visit larger ice rinks to foster a sense of adventure and community within its members.
