About Us
Established in 1878, Edinburgh University AFC is the third-oldest senior club in the East of Scotland and has been a member of the Scottish Football Association since its establishment.
Our club consists of five teams which all play twice a week. If you would like to join the club, keep a look out on our socials for the sign-up form for our September trials during Welcome Week!
Please only purchase a membership if you have been to trials and have had confirmation from someone at the club that you have made it into a team.
Performance Teams
Our First team competes in the East of Scotland First Division on a Saturday, a semi-professional league which is part of the seventh tier of Scottish Football. On a Wednesday, they play in Scottish BUCS 1A against the best footballing universities in Scotland.
Our other three performance teams also compete at a high level. Our U20s (3rd XI) compete in the East of Scotland Development League, acting as a feeder team to our 1st XI. Our second, fourth and fifth teams play at different levels of LEAFA amateur leagues (Lothian and Edinburgh Amateur Football Association) on a Saturday. All four of these squads compete in BUCS on a Wednesday against various universities around Scotland.
Our squads train twice a week at Peffermill playing fields, and most weeks will have two fixtures. EUAFC provides an opportunity for students to compete in a performance environment at different levels. As such, a high level of commitment is expected in return for a fantastic playing experience.

By purchasing our club membership, you are recognised as an active member of our club and of agree to abide by the EUSU Constitution and Bye-Laws the club’s membership terms, Constitution and Bye-Laws, and all EUSU policies.
As a member of the EUSU community, you are also expected to uphold the wider University of Edinburgh policies .
As the club regularly uses Edinburgh Sport facilities, you are also required to purchase an Edinburgh Sport membership. This allows the club to access facilities without hire charges, helping us keep club membership costs as low as possible. You’ll also enjoy unlimited access to our world class gym and active health facilities, group exercise classes and member swim sessions.
