Weightlifting Club

Edinburgh University Weightlifting Club welcomes all ability levels, so whether you’re looking to compete, or simply get in in shape you will be well catered for.

Weightlifting is an exciting and challenging sport that relies on technique every bit as it does strength. With three training sessions per week, access to top quality facilities and expert coaching from Scotland's 77kg record holder, Edinburgh University Weightlifting Club (EUWC) is the perfect place to learn Olympic-style weightlifting.

Whether aiming to win medals, to gain experience or simply to have fun, EUWC encourages all members to participate in competitions throughout the year.

Although a new club, EUWC has quickly become the largest university weightlifting club in Scotland. Starting, a few years ago, as a few guys lifting in a room, EUWC has quickly grown into a diverse, welcoming club of all levels and ability and now boasts a significant proportion of female athletes.

Please be aware, to join this club you must have purchased a Sport & Exercise Gym Membership, which is available HERE

We don't have anything planned right now but check back soon!

Should an individual require a refund – this can only be done by the club you have joined in cash or cheque (at their own discretion). The £5 Sports Union Membership cannot be refunded, and neither can the £1.75 transaction fee.
