Cheerleading & Dance Club

We proudly uphold the University of Edinburgh's longstanding tradition of excellence in sports by achieving consecutive national titles in both Cheerleading and Dance.

Edinburgh University Cheerleading and Dance welcomes everyone, whatever their level of experience, to try out for one of our eight teams:

EUCD Vixens Level 2: Our Level 2 cheerleading competition team was awarded 1st place and grand champs at the 2025 National championships! We train Tuesdays 6:30-8:30 and Wednesdays 5:30-7.

EUCD Vixens Level 2 Non-Tumble: Our new Level 2 Non-Tumble cheerleading competition team aims to provide greater accessibility to higher-level cheerleading without the requirement to tumble. We train Tuesdays from 5:30 to 6:30 and Fridays from 5:30 to 7.

EUCD Vixens Level 1: Our Level 1 cheerleading competition team received 1st and 2nd places in both Scottish and UK national championships in 2024! We train Wednesdays 4-5:30 and Thursdays 5-7.

EUCD Vixens Pom: Our competitive pom teams were awarded 1st and 2nd places at the UK national championships in 2024. We train Thursdays 5-7 and have a technique session on Sundays 6-7.

EUCD Vixens Jazz: Our competitive jazz team. In 2024, we received two 1st places in both the Scottish and UK nationals we attended, and we were awarded the Phenomenal Performance title in the 2023 UK nationals! We train Wednesdays 5-7 and have a technique session on Sundays 6-7.

EUCD Vixens Hip-Hop: Our competitive hip hop team. In 2024, we were awarded 1st and 2nd places in both Scottish and UK national championships! We train Mondays 5-7 and have a technique session on Thursdays 7:30-8:30. 

EUCD Vixens Venom: Our recreational cheerleading team. We spend the year developing skills performed at our annual showcase. We train Sundays 12-2.

EUCD Performance Dance: This is a recreational dance team. This team will explore a range of styles throughout the year and have the opportunity to perform at events throughout the year, as well as our annual showcase. We train Sundays 7-8.

 

Our competitive cheerleading teams train in Gym 3 in St Leonards land, competitive dance teams and our recreational cheerleading team train in the Dance Studio in St Leonards land, and the performance dance and technique classes are all at Pleasance!

We also have an additional tumble class on Saturdays 4-5:30 which is open to everyone in the club!

Please be aware, to join our competitive teams, you must have purchased a Sport & Exercise Gym Membership.

There are no upcoming events

Should an individual require a refund – this can only be done by the club you have joined in cash or cheque (at their own discretion). The Sports Union Membership cannot be refunded, and neither can the transaction fee.

You may be eligible for financial assistance to help you take part in sport. You can find more information about the University's Participation Grant and other hardship funds here.
