About Us

We are made up of 4 men's XIs, 2 women's XIs and a social 5th XI. Our teams play all year round in both indoor and outdoor competitions and the club also has a thriving social scene.

Our Club

Nets, open to the whole club, are held every Saturday (10-4) at Edinburgh Academy Junior School with timing dependent on each squad - providing an excellent opportunity to maintain nick between seasons.  Regular midweek training for each squad (Tuesday & Thursday evenings as St Leonards) allows our 1s/2s players to hone their skills, and the range of abilities in our 3s/4s and Women’s squad to develop their game. For the elite athletes (and everyone else) we have weekly circuit sessions, as well as specific sessions for our indoor performance squad.

But we all know Cricket is a social sport.  No wonder then that we are one of the premier clubs for social activities - you’ve got to do something whilst the weather’s too poor for cricket. You can regularly find a friendly bunch at our sponsored bar Dropkick Murphy's, badgering or participating in whatever nonsense our Social Secs have planned.

Throughout the winter we have two Men’s and two Women’s VI competing in the BUCS indoor competition, allowing our performance players to compete at a high level of Cricket even in the off-season. Meanwhile, inter-club tournaments and friendlies against other universities provide opportunity for the rest of us to get competitive.

Come May there is plenty of opportunity for Cricket. Our Women's 1XI and 2nd XI compete in Northern Tier 1A, while the Men’s 1st 2nd, 3rd, and 4th XI's compete strongly throughout the Scotland Tier 1 and Tier 2 divisions. The 5th XI play social fixtures against local clubs in Edinburgh and the Borders, providing excellent opportunities for newcomers to the sport. If you are interested in starting or continuing your Cricket journey, we are always looking for new players so make sure to get in touch or get involved with our publicised events such as training or socials.
