History
Curling began in the 16th century and was played on frozen Scottish lochs. EUCC was founded in 1973.
Our Club
We welcome all abilities, from complete beginners to curlers with years of experience. Curling is also a wheelchair- and disability-friendly sport.

What is Curling?
It is a sport played on ice, between two teams of 4.
The goal is to throw lumps of granite called stones towards a target called the house.
The winner is the team who has their stones closer to the centre of the house at the end of each round, called an end.

Training
We train/play every Wednesday at Murrayfield Curling Rink.
Training starts at 15:00, so please arrive with enough time to get changed and be ready to play by then.
What to bring
Please bring a separate change of CLEAN shoes; this means not worn to get to the rink, and with no dirt/mud on the soles.
Wear warm clothes/layers/gloves, since it is played in an ice rink!
All other kit is provided.
Season 2026/27
Our first session is on the 7th of October at 15:00.
We have limited space each week, so please sign up using the forms shared on our social media channels.

The following buses stop outside the rink:
12 (from central campus/King's Buildings)

31 (from Princes Street/central campus)
Competitions
We are involved in 2 main competitions each season:
SSS League (for players with at least 1 year's experience): competition against other Scottish universities throughout the year, held on Wednesday's in Perth
SSS Open (for players with at least 1 semester's experience): friendly weekend in Stranraer, playing against other Scottish universities, with games/socials in the evenings
