Edinburgh University Futsal Club currently has 3 men's teams competing in different tiers of BUCS and Scottish Futsal Leagues in addition 2 women's teams in BUCS Premier North League and Scottish 1A.
The Men's 1st team currently competes in the BUCS Scottish 1A league and has become Scottish Champions in the 2019/20, 2021/22, 2022/23 seasons. In the 2022/23 season, the 1st team also had a successful run in the National Trophy making it to the semifinals. The Men’s 1st team is now the most successful and dominant university futsal team in Scotland. Furthermore, the Men’s 1st team gained promotion to the Scottish Super League (the highest futsal league in Scotland) in the 2022/23 season, which gives us an opportunity to perform on the highest platform in the nation and possibly qualify for the UEFA Futsal Champions League. Our 2nd team gained promotion from Scottish 2A into 1A in the 2021/22 season as well as winning the Scottish Conference Cup in an all-Edinburgh final against our 3rd team. We are set on winning Scottish 1A in the 2023/24 season to make our return to BUCS Premier and finish in a good position in our coming Super League season.
Since starting Futsal as part of EUWAFC, Women's Futsal has become the 2016 British Futsal Champions, 2019 British Futsal Championship Silver medal, and achieved second place in our first season of the BUCS Premier North League. In the 2022/23 season, the Women’s 1st team competed in the National Championship quarter-final, played a showcase match against the Northern Ireland national team and finished 3rd place in the Northern Prem. The Women’s 2nd team competed in the National Trophy and finished 2nd place in the BUCS Scottish Tier One league. Both teams helped raise awareness for the Football v Homophobia campaign, adding to the very successful 2022/23 season of both Women’s teams.
The club won EUSU’s most improved club of the year at its annual award event (2022/23).
