We have a women's and men's team who both compete in the Scottish Student League. This league consists of weekly matches, home and away, so always a chance to explore Scotland! There is no need to be available for all games, just as many as you want to play in. The past couple of years, both teams entered the BUCS national competitions and had a fantastic time competing against teams from all over the UK. Throughout the year we also hold lots of socials including scavenger hunts, beach BBQs, Christmas dinners, as well as socials with other teams after our league competitions, so keep an eye out on Instagram if you are interested!
What is Handball?
Handball is played indoors with one goalkeeper and six outfield players on each side. Mixing the speed and movement of basketball with the goal-scoring of football, it makes a quick-paced contact sport where teams aim to throw the ball into opposing goals. Outfield players must stay outside the 'D' -a 6 metre semicircle around the goal - except when shooting, where they may jump in as long as the ball is released before landing inside. Court sizes are 40 × 20 metres with goals being 3 × 2 metres.
