Rifle Club

The club provides a friendly inclusive environment for those who wish to learn the skill of target shooting which while fun, challenges and helps build your patience and focus.

The club's membership is open to Edinburgh University Students and Non-students, but beginners must be matriculated EU students or staff.

Your membership includes systematic one-to-one coaching from experienced club members until you are assessed that you can shoot on your own, as well as use of the necessary equipment for smallbore and fullbore rifle shooting.  We regularly compete with other universities and clubs in Scotland and across the UK

Introduction / Beginner smallbore rifle training:  Tuesday 18:30-21:00 and Wednesdays 17:00-19:30

Important membership information:

1. To join us (and other clubs) you must have purchased a Sport & Exercise Gym Membership, which is available HERE. 
2. Completing the membership purchase through the sports union site initiates an application process to become a probationary member.  The club will review your membership questionnaire prior to you being formally added as a member.
3. The club has a capacity of 120 members and therefore it may be that applications are declined.  Please note the club makes every effort to manage access to the sport union site to avoid this happening.
4. Fullbore shooting is only available in the summer, provision and participation are at the discretion of the club committee.
5. Experienced shooters are welcome if they attend another Scottish higher education institution, are graduates or are a member of a national body training squad.  Before applying, please contact the club to discuss your aims and level of experience.
