What to do if an accident occurs?

At an Edinburgh Sport venue

Accidents and incidents which take place at an Edinburgh Sport venue should instantly be reported to Edinburgh Sport Operational staff, who will attend, provide assistance and, if appropriate, administer first aid.

Edinburgh Sport colleagues will complete an accident or incident report form and may require information from club members involved in the incident or accident. This may include details from witnesses.

Before leaving the site, please check in with Edinburgh Sport operational staff to ensure they have all the information they may require.

At an alternative venue or event

Seek medical assistance from the site or event operator and follow their practices.

They will likey complete an accident or incident report form and may require information from those involved or who may have witnessed the event.

If an accident occurs off Univeristy premises and outside of Edinburgh Sport venues, it's important to report it promptly (ideally within 24 hours) to Edinburgh University Sports Union.

To do so, complete an Accident & Incident Report as soon as it is safe.

Keeping us informed helps maintain everyone's safety and wellbeing.

Once an accident report is received, EUSU will conduct welfare check-ins with the injured party to understand their road to recovery and provide any necessary support.

If any remedial actions are recommended, we will also contact the club committee to discuss the next steps.

Once an incident report is received, EUSU will contact the club committee to discuss follow-up actions.
