Hey guys, I'm Ben, your Media Officer for 2026/27. I'm currently in third year studying a BSc Sport Management.

I've been heavily involved in university sport throughout my time at Edinburgh, particularly through Men's Hockey, where I've held roles across officiating, media and the club committee. I've also been lucky enough to represent Edinburgh through my umpiring, both domestically and internationally.

After getting involved in the Sports Union through media, volunteering and wider university sport, I decided to run for Exec because I wanted to give something back to the community that has been such a big part of my Univeristy experience.

As Media Officer, I'm particularly excited to help clubs showcase everything that makes Sport at Edinburgh so special and make Sports Union media a resource that clubs can genuinely use and benefit from.

My aims for 2026/27

Support for Clubs: Maintain and promote the Media Form system so clubs can easily request coverage, graphics and promotional support.
Graphic Design Support: Provide hands-on assistance to help teams improve branding, templates and social media visuals.
Media Standards: Raise the overall quality and consistency of Sports Union media so Edinburgh Sport is presented professionally across all platforms.
Officer Empowerment: Support club media officers with guidance, shared resources and open communication to build their confidence in creating content.
Storytelling: Celebrate student sport by highlighting achievements, athletes and team stories across a wider range of clubs.
